06.01.2017 | Past events and exhibitions

June 15th – July 15th 2017 / Opening of the sound art installation Insight, at NAGN – National Art Gallery of Namibia, Robert Mugabe Ave, Windhoek, Namibia

The installation will become part of the permanent collection of the museum.

Insight is a sound installation, a sensory, narrative, auditive and visual path, a precious and vibrant relational architecture based on the perceptive stimuli of light art and sound art, which fits the neutral space, airy and metallic of the Upper Museum (National Art Gallery of Namibia).

Joshua Cesa’s installation, with Alessio Sorato and Lorena Cantarut sounds, is formed by numerous ‘sensorial-auditive stations’, each one telling – through the stimulation of the senses and the reproduction of the auditive prints of the I World War, the experiential ghost of the conflict.

Inspired by the literary evidences of 1914-16, the artwork contributes in investigating the collective and individual memory of the first global global conflict, starting from the sensorial polarity sight/deceptive – hearing/salvific, detected into the evidences of the past and common to all the conflicts of the short century.

The project was possible thanks to the SIE – SILLUMINA fund, which sustain young Italian artists in the world!

In collaboration with NAGN and the National Archive of Namibia
