Angelica Ianesi was an intellectual woman in 18th-century Tolmezzo: a poetess and theorist of female education in a peripheral and isolated area. A voice out of the chorus, whose memory has almost disappeared and of whom, until recently, only an ancient edition and a manuscript remained in the ‘Joppi’ library in Udine: intellectual products that critics in later centuries struggled to recognise.
Her most famous work, the Colloquio sopra gli studi delle donne, is a treatise in which Ianesi pioneeringly argues the need to refound women’s education.
Over the past two years, thanks to the Illuminismo FVG project, numerous contemporary artists, poets and women artists have revived Ianesi’s legacy, outlining an archive of new knowledge about the author, hitherto absent. These include university researchers Tancredi Artico, Clara Stella and Valentina Serio, the poet Mariagiorgia Ulbar, and contemporary Italian, Iranian and Vietnamese artists Alice Mestriner, Ahad Moslemi and Quỳnh Lâm.

RE-WRITING HERITAGE IN EQUALITY: IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ANGELICA IANESI
Workshop dedicated to educators, art therapists, museum educators, teachers, cultural organisers, education students and curious parents!
With artists Alice Mestriner & Ahad Moslemi
In memory of the author’s independent thinking, the publishing house B#S Edizioni is organising a workshop with creative release exercises by the artistic duo Mestriner/Moslemi. Those taking part will take part in a workshop on re-writing museum captions by creating tables of visual notes. Through observation, the recollection of personal experience, creative and poetic writing, new forms of contact and investigation of cultural and artistic heritage will be experienced.
In particular, with reference to André Malraux’s concept of the ‘Imaginary Museum’, you will experience the museum as a place that is not only physical, but also mental and personal, opening up space for the imagination. The methodologies learnt can be replicated in different contexts: museum visits, school or extra-curricular creative workshops, art-therapy sessions. At the end of the afternoon of work, a convivial moment with the delivery of B#S Edizioni volumes and certificates of participation.
Participation is free of charge and places are limited, booking is required by writing to prenotazioni@iodeposito.org

RE-WRITING HERITAGE IN EQUALITY: IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ANGELICA IANESI
Creative workshops dedicated to girls and boys 11+
B#S Edizioni organises a series of creative workshops dedicated to boys and girls aged 11-15: with the creative liberation exercises of the artistic duo Mestriner/Moslemi and thanks to the experimental literature practices of Mariagiorgia Ulbar, those taking part, with the collaboration of the Comfort Zone operators and art therapists, will take an active part in a workshop on re-writing museum captions, in the wake of the ‘lavender labels’ experiment, in the logic of experimenting with new forms of contact and investigation of cultural, ethnographic and artistic heritage, aimed at nurturing diversity and divergent points of view in museums and archives, through observation, recollection of personal experience, and creative and poetic writing.
