VIDEO ART NIGHT: FEMALE VIDEO ARTIST AND THE WAR / THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN PRESERVING OUR COMMON MEMORY
At 8.45 pm on the 5th of July, at Treviso Ricerca Arte (TRA, Ca’ dei Ricchi), we will present a video art event, in a night entirely dedicated to four female video artists who have oriented their works and their resaerches towards the issues of memory and conflicts. They have addressed these issues with a material approach, linked to life and primordial elements such as mud, ashes, soil, water, smoke and body.
Their artworks can be traced back to the precious theme of the exhibition and to the forms in which collective memory is embodied: the organic memory, which becomes the ideal setting for a reflection on the themes of conflict and legacies of the wars to the contemporary.
On the occasion, there will be a light talk with the artist Vanessa Gageos.
Videoartworks by: Natalie Vanheule (Belgio), Vanessa Gageos (Romania), Victoria Lucas (Inghilterra), Estabrak Al Ansari (Oman)
