The fates of female and natural resources are intertwined in the history of modernity. From 7 October to 3 November 2023, at the Anti-Aircraft Shelter in Piazza Primo Maggio in Udine, 10 biting voices from the contemporary art scene will discuss some of the hot topics of today’s women’s issue, tracing paths and connections between the waste of female competence and the waste of natural competence, problematising, hypothesising antidotes and new keys to interpreting the phenomena that have marked gender inequality.
The exhibition, conceptually subdivided into three chapters, without claiming to be exhaustive, presents visions and suggestions from the world of art on the relationship between man-woman-nature, activating circuits of critical thought on iconography and visual representation, on the themes of the gaze and the body in relation to society, tracing and suggesting those collective cultural paths that implicitly or explicitly can shorten the distance between genders.
