Alberto Pavan and his book Ciclonugae. Sui pedali tra le pagine del Friuli (On the pedals between the pages of Friuli) takes us on an evocative cycling trip in stages from Aquileia to the edge of the Lagoon of San Marco, passing through Beligna and Belvedere, Sunday October 1st, 2023 (meet at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Paleochristian Museum, piazza Pirano, Monastero, Aquileia, UD).
Among museums, parish churches, villages and places that evoke the pages of Borges and many other writers, Ciclonugae is a volume that brings together a series of travel proposals through Friuli Venezia Giulia: designed for cycling and more, the itineraries take us into the territory through the study of the pages of authors who are linked to those places, or who have spoken of those places in their works.
In Ciclonugae, literature makes the landscape speak from different perspectives, stretching its folds, animating its people. A unique experience of exploration through cycling and the written word that will end with a guided visit to the house of the canon and archaeologist Gian Domenico Bertoli, recently renovated and now home to the National Association for Aquileia.
The excursion is free and open to all, with a route of about 16 kilometres designed for families and children: the outing will last about three hours, with a series of stops dedicated to storytelling and selected readings.
