Claudio Beorchia

Claudio Beorchia (born in 1979 in Vercelli) is a visual artist interested in giving form to eloquent and significant artworks reflecting on the complexity, the incongruences and the contradictions of a particular reality and of some social dynamics.

Claudio works through the use of several media and experimenting different and unusual materials.

Most of his project and artworks are conceived site-specificly as the artist gives a great importance to which space and specific urban landscape the artworks will be set in, and even more to the citizens of the place and the surrounding dynamics.

He helds a BA in Visual Art and Design at Iuav in Venice, a MA in New Media Art at Brera Art Academy in Milan, a PhD in Design Sciences at Iuav in Venice and he participated to many residences in Italy, Germany, Denmark and China. His artworks are included in several private and public collections and he was an award winner of a number of prizes as the recent Un’opera per il Castello 2015 prize for the installation at Castel Sant’Elmo in Naples and Enegan Art Prize in Firenze.

Among other solos and group shows all around Italy and abroad in Argentina, China, Armenia, Croatia, France, Denmark, Uruguay, he took part to Innesti Urbani, a public space project in Padova (2015), in Here. Now. Where?, a special project of the 5th Marrakesh Biennal, in 20×1, a special project of the 5th Moscow Biennal, in Stanze della Memoria, at Palazzo Ducale of Genova and in Italia-Israele, in I sensi del Mediterraneo, at Hangar Bicocca of Milan.
